Meet Tom Arthur

BACKGROUND
As a long-time resident of District 46, Tom is deeply committed to representing the interests and aspirations of our community. His journey in public service has been defined by a passion for addressing the needs of our constituents and advocating for positive change. He believe in transparency, integrity, and inclusive leadership.
VISION FOR THE DISTRICT
Tom is the Principal at Owen Valley Middle School, where he is dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for all students. With a background as a former math teacher, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. In addition to his work in education, he also enjoys the unique perspective gained from being a school bus driver, connecting with students outside the classroom. Passionate about education and community, Tom strives to inspire and empower the next generation.
As a public servant, Tom has served on the City Council and Mayor of Brazil, Indiana, as well as the Assistant Principal of Dugger Union Community Schools in Sullivan County. Tom gained a vast array of knowledge having worked on school and city budgets as well as a legislative liaison.
